to be fair on them, that picture appeared in one store, in japan, and only drew attention because it was bad. if you want to boycott photoshopped models, forget ralph lauren, you're gonna find it difficult to shop anywhere.

I think what most people are irked by (though I can't speak for Babs specifically) is not so much the laughable Photoshop job, but the fact that they tried to bully the website that exposed it with threats of lawsuits.

My main problem is that they fired a 5ft10in 120lb model for being too fat, then went ahead and used her face on an anorexic photo shopped body. First of all, how in the hell can someone that height and weight be considered fat? Secondly, they're saying her body's too fat, but her face is still ok, so hey, just fire her and then mess with her frame to make her look like a heroin addicted stick. The entire fashion and entertainment industry is a disgusting mind fuck on women at it is, but what Ralph Lauren did just takes the absurdity to a whole new level.

that's a very crappy pic, and the clothes are awfull
it doesnt even give the 'i'm sick' feeling, if that was the feeling they wanted to convey (which was a trend a couple of years ago), just an odd photoshop effect (eeek! look how big is that head on that wasp waist!).
estetically it's just all wrong. politically is super wrong...

it's very odd because in fashion magazines you rarely see that type of bad pic and lame concept.

at least when no-lita asked oliviero toscani to take pics for their 2007 collection he shot the real thing

Is it wrong of me to already have my Christmas list?

I want:

a porcelain tea set with wooden tray, because tea is my favorite drink in the whole world, and having a nice cozy set to serve it in would make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, even though I would probably only serve it to myself

mint scented beeswax soap, but not just any brand. It has to come from that little store in Northern Michigan.

pajamas, because you can never have enough pairs of pajamas

and, of course, the Oxford Etymological Dictionary, because, well..just because.

At the top of the zoom in zoom out function on the left, is an orange little man, if you click and drag him to a spot on the map it will give you a real street view.

yup, but what i meant is the little button just above that, a circle in a square. i clicked it and it showed me where i am, pretty much down to the individual house.
